Booking terms

1. Fees
   Fees are payable a minimum of two working days in advance of the lesson. 
   1. A lesson cannot take place unless it has been paid for.  
   2. I cannot guarantee my availability for any advance payment that is less than 48 hours before the lesson.
2. Cancelling, rescheduling one-off lessons 
   You can cancel or reschedule a lesson but you must cancel it two full working days of the lesson. In that event, a credit will be added to your account and you will be able to rebook the lesson at another time using my booking calendar.
3. Cancelling and/or rescheduling block-booked lessons
   In addition to the above terms, block-booked lessons may only be rescheduled once (for a five-lesson block booking) or twice (for a ten-lesson block booking).  If additional lessons need to be changed the original lesson is forfeited and a new lesson and payment will be taken.
4. Existing students confirming extra lessons
   If you ask for an extra lesson at any point, you should confirm in writing at least two working days before that lesson.  If you do not I will not have the time to fit in any lesson preparation and the lesson will not be possible. 
5. My lesson schedule
   My lessons can be booked via Calendly.  They are booked on a first-come-first-served basis.  Regular slots can be reserved by students/their parents paying on a direct debit schedule. If you are booking week by week, I cannot guarantee that the slot you would like will not be booked already.  I may also make changes to the time slots that are available for lessons depending on my business circumstances.  My most up-to-date availability will always be my Calendly booking link.
6. My availability
   I try to be available for all of my lessons 100% of the time but there are times when my personal circumstances mean I must cancel a lesson myself. In the event that this happens I will always offer the option to book a replacement lesson.
7. Termination of student lessons
   I reserve the right to stop teaching a student if I feel the student is not the right fit for my services.
8. Lesson timekeeping
   Students should aim to be on time for lessons. I will wait for a maximum of fifteen minutes for a student. 
   1. In the event that a student is late but within fifteen minutes, their lesson will not run over the original end time.   
   2. In the event that a student is too late to start, the lesson will be cancelled and any fees paid will be non-refundable. 
   3. In the event that a student is too late for a group lesson, I will lock the room at my discretion to avoid interfering with the lesson for any students that were on time. 
9. Studying in a quiet environment
   It is recommended that you study in an area where parents or carers are on hand in case of any issues to do with IT, health or other concerns. Depending on the age of the student, this can be best agreed upon during the initial meeting and, like at school, students should feel safe, comfortable, secure and happy with the area they have selected for their lessons.
10. Lesson expiry
    If pre-pay for lessons but do not book them, after a three-month period, they will expire and you would need to pay for more.
11. Refunds
    Refunds are only issued if a student relationship is completely terminated.  In any other circumstance, where appropriate, you will be given the opportunity to re-book any paid-for lessons (subject to all other terms on this page).
12. Subject to change
    All terms and conditions are subject to change and retrospective application.

Progress and reporting

1. Verbal reports
   Verbal reports are available at any time for the parent/guardian of a student.  To book a report, please use the 'book a 15-minute chat' button all any page of this website.
2. Written reports
   A short written report can be provided on request at the end of each academic term.  To request a report parents/guardians should email a request to my private email address (provided to all signed up students / parents/guardians of signed-up students)
